Whilst doing the preliminary task, I learnt many different things. First off, I learnt some of the different types of camera shots and their uses e.g. a close up is sometimes used to show expressions, extreme long shot is used to show the setting surrounding the character etc.
I also learnt how to use and set up the tripod and camera. I, having never studied media before, have never had to use a camera or tripod but, thankfully, I did not find this too difficult so now I am extremely confident with setting it up. 
Editing the film came next. I learnt how to upload it, how to cut out unwanted parts of the film and how to add transitions between different shots.
